Installation Process

Most floor coating jobs are completed start to finish in a single day. Here’s exactly what that day looks like.

Step 1: Site Arrival and Preparation

Our crew arrives on time, assesses the space, and gets set up before any work begins. This includes clearing the area of any remaining items and protecting surrounding surfaces. Before the first grinder runs, we know exactly what the floor needs and how we're going to deliver it.

Step 2: Surface Preparation

Surface prep is the most important step in the entire installation. We grind and scarify the existing concrete using diamond grinding equipment, removing old paint, adhesives, dirt, and surface contaminants while opening the pores of the slab so the new coating bonds firmly. On metallic epoxy installations, cracks are routed out, filled with commercial-grade crack filler, and ground smooth prior to coating.

For polished concrete projects, grinding begins at a coarser grit and progresses through increasingly fine diamond tooling. For concrete restoration, we identify and map every raised joint, uneven surface, and trip hazard so nothing gets missed once the grinder is running.

Step 3: Application

With the surface properly prepared, application begins. For coating systems—flake, metallic, solid color, quartz, or urethane cement—the base coat is applied first, followed by the decorative layer and a durable topcoat. Every system is installed using commercial and industrial grade materials from Sherwin-Williams and SurfKoat.

For polished concrete, diamond tooling progresses through finer and finer grits (up to 800 or 1500 grit) until the desired matte, satin, or high-gloss finish is achieved. Concrete dyes are applied at this stage for clients who want color.

For concrete restoration, grinding continues until every identified hazard has been leveled and the surface is safe, even, and consistent across the entire area.

Step 4: Cure and Final Inspection

Once application is complete, we inspect the finished surface thoroughly before packing up. Our polyaspartic and polyurea coating systems cure quickly. Your floor is typically ready for light foot traffic the same day and back to full use within 24 hours. We don't consider the job done until the floor meets our standards and yours.

Step 5: Aftercare Walkthrough

Before we leave, we walk you through how to care for your new floor: how to clean it, what products to use, and what to avoid. Every floor we install is backed by a one-year installation warranty on workmanship and a lifetime product warranty on all materials. If anything comes up after we leave, we're a phone call away.

Thousands of floors installed. One-day turnaround. Lifetime product warranty.

From the first grind to the final inspection, every step exists for a reason. Get the process right and the floor takes care of itself.
